 today, the yoga teacher said:
it is officially fall, and finally all the trees are showing the colours they’ve been hiding, before they let go. and i thought: hm. i guess it’s natural, then. to hide all of our colours until we’re on our way out. and i thought: it’s time to turn over a new leaf. and i thought: i am hungry. so, i ate a sandwich on a baguette even though i’m not eating bread anymore, and then i shone bright red and green and yellow because the sandwich had tomato and avocado and egg inside of it. i love egg, even though i’m a vegetarian now. and i’ll always eat eggs even though i am vegan, plus hamburgers and cheese too, because no matter how many new leaves i turn over, i can’t seem to get rid of my trunk. or skipthedishes. and even though, now that i have turned over a new leaf, i will go to the dentist and take care of my nails and brush my hair every day, today my skin has a burgundy and blue and silver tinge to it too. beneath the baguette. because i didn’t brush my teeth after all the wine last night. also, i haven’t been to the dentist in years. plus, i forgot to remove all of my chipped blue nail polish. and my greys are showing. today i am red and burgundy and green and silver and yellow and blue. probably purple, too. because i burned my wrist making tater tots for lunch, even though i don’t eat carbs. also i’m orange from all the memories i keep peeling back, even though they should stay where they are, plus the neon sneakers i bought, even though i'm saving money. today, the yoga teacher said: be a toppling tree. and i said: no problem! and i fell over.
